Mazda, Kia or Subaru?

Hi, looking at buying a second hand car, $15,000 to $20,000 I’ve narrowed it down to either Mazda cx5, Kia sportage or Subaru XV. Have done a lot of research but would love to hear some pros and cons from other peoples experiences please? Car Dealer or private? Year models to avoid? etc TIA

    Have you driven these cars??
You need to actually go and drive them as what you think you want on paper can be totally different in reality

I’d go the Mazda. We had them as work cars, good on fuel and good resale.

I wouldn’t buy a Hyundai or Kia after dealing with engine failure issues – Google it and you will see how much of an issue it is.

Love my cx5. 240,000 and still going strong. Great on fuel. It’s more fuel efficient than the Hyundai i30 I drive for work 🤷‍♀️

  5. Christy Murphy says:

We have had two Kia Sportage now and couldn’t fault them. After service is amazing.

We own both a mazda & subaru.
The subaru is far more advanced in safety features & 10 times more comfortable than the Mazda cx. Just my opinion.

    I would go Kia anytime

Subarus go forever. Slightly more expensive to service but so reliable in the long run.

Definitely the Subaru out of those 3 options. The handling and grip of AWD is great compared with a Front wheel drive car. They drive and feel a lot better in the rain.
